Biography

José Luis Parralo Gutiérrez was born on 24th July 1985, in Cádiz, one of the most ancient cities in Europe, located in the South of Spain. Fond of Literature and Languages since his early stages in school education, he was accepted as an English Philology student in Universidad de Cádiz (UCA) in 2006, where he was lucky enough to meet high-qualified and enthusiastic professors, such as Maria del Carmen Fernández and Rafael Vélez (among many others), whose passion was so contagious that influenced him to try and become a teacher.

In 2009, he successfully completed a one-year course in Newcastle University, England, within the Erasmus Programme for international students, and obtained his bachelor degree in 2012. The chance to start putting his teaching aptitude into practice was given by the prestigious private academy Instituto Europeo, where he spent four years not just teaching the English Language at all levels, but also sharpening his teaching methodology through experience. Currently, he is a member of the Modern Languages Department in Catholic University of America (CUA), working as a Spanish teaching fellow and preparing a M.A. in Hispanic Cultures and Literature.
