The Department of Modern Languages and Literatures at Catholic University is a dynamic community of teacher-scholars with widely varying backgrounds, research interests, and teaching expertise.
Our department is grounded in a humanistic tradition of intellectual inquiry and scholarship and a passion for language learning and culture studies. We believe in intercultural and interdisciplinary dialogue and we work closely with other Catholic University faculty and programs, including International Business, Media and Communication Studies, Politics, History, Anthropology, Sociology, the arts, and the STEM and professional disciplines. All of our faculty and students are active participants in the rich cultural and intellectual environment of our nation’s capital here in Washington, DC.
